Umber Possum 🎀

On first glance, this design reminds me a little bit of how I feel during the Christmas season some years...

Ready for festivities appearance-wise but 'up the tree' with low-key stress.

Thankfully this little guy is perched with a little more poise than I typically feel. He reminds me that it is good to take a moment, step back, be still, and observe.

When I use this card, I like to play off the theme of quiet I see in this little possum, and send wishes of meaningful moments within the busy-ness for enjoyment of each other's company.

Sometimes it feels like Christmas is over so quickly. But we can lengthen the minutes and the hours by rejecting the hustle and taking care to be truly present with one another. As Dr Seuss says:

Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart and hand in hand.

Sandra Herrgott's designs have an earthiness and quiet which makes me feel at home as an Australian unfamiliar with the 'white Christmas' enjoyed by many. So it's a perfect design for sending overseas to international relatives or friends to share a little bit of Christmas Down Under, or to Australian neighbours and acquaintances in solidarity during the typical December heat-wave.
