Crimson Koala 🐨

There is something cheerful and direct about this design from Sandra Herrgott.

I mean, no matter which way you look at it, there is something wonderfully disarming about the tiny sideways smile and the voluminous bow.

It makes me think about the energy I bring to Christmas.

Do I bring stress, bustle and the sense that I don't have time for anyone?

Or am I bringing calm presence and my full attention to the human in front of me?

When writing in this card, we might capture the sentiment of this cute koala by trying to fill it with frank, honest thoughts of care and attention.

If writing to a person whom we haven't seen in some time, we might include a personalised expression about how we hope something specific in their life is going well or is resolved and going better.

Another thing I like to do in these sorts of missives when I haven't seen the person in a long time but think of them often, is try to pinpoint during what sort of activities I think of them and spin a little anecdote of why!

Specific details like this help us speak directly to the heart and help the person reading our missive know it's not just a Christmas card scribbled off but genuine care. It help us connect in a real way, even when we are far apart.

One of my favourite cuddly bears once said that "Christmas is a togethery sort of holiday" to which his friend Piglet replied, "That's my favourite kind too."*

And honestly, I couldn't agree more.
